Hello ! Fourth week in university already , time really flies ~
Having so much work withdrawals so I'm gonna update about my 5months work experience in The Westin Singapore ! Hahahah , my blog posts in the holidays were practically all about them so I'm sure everyone's getting sick of the place , but it's the last time okay T-T (unless i go back to work there which I probably will :p)
I miss every thing about the place to be honest .
I miss my old name tag T-T I think they threw them away , sigh . should have requested for it if I knew but I was in Myanmar ;-; they remade it to the magnetic type so they lazy asked everyone for their passion and by default , we all love sports z.z
The road and arrival lobby area I work at . (I sort of got caught by the HM for taking the second shot opps)
And the driveway which is my fave place to stand at but don't have a photo of , sadly . (yes, we all swoon over the lambo tgt and stopped working for fifteen mins . Until I suddenly looked around and realised we were all just silently staring at the car and ask everyone to wakeup HAHAHAH)
Old valets:
First; Shaik and Nathan ! Second; Uncle Latif and Ryan ! Third; Uncle Koh ! (Dedi refuses to take a photo tgt -.-)
Missed the old valets so much . I promised Mugu I will visit them one day at Sofitel but I hadn't yet x.x I still remember how when I first started working , Pearlyn told me "If you ever feel bored , ask this two to entertain you ok" and points to Mugu and Danny . Everyone else always hang around tgt at the concierge table , I was so awkward since I didn't had anything to say and didn't know them well . I hated sundays so much because everyone is working yet I feel so lonely . So I stood outside alone , emo-ly . And all these old valets always tell me , go inside play with them . Must socialize or else it will be a pain to work without friends . And I'll always be like nah , it's better outside . So they're the people I spend the most time talking and crapping with ! We actually feel like a team , unlike the new valets who kept having conflicts with our people and aren't as initiative or hardworking i feel ):
Nathan , our 'boss' who always look super fierce and scolds me for standing outside in the sun instead of calling them to do it and shoo me away , I always have no idea if he was seriously angry or just teasing me . He hates doing stuffs for xxx but when he saw me ending up with the work , he always give in and do it anyway (':
Mugu who always talks with me when I'm bored , sends me random but encouraging whatsapp and selfies (HAHAHAH) , and is one of the reason why I love work because he's hilarious and fun .
Danny who is a really kind and nice gentleman , always frowning and giving us the "wth you're a lady" face when we unglam , offer to send me home because we're neighbours and is really just such a good guy through and through . I happened to meet him in Sembawang one fine day when I was in a bad mood and glaring around , and he made me smile instantly :D He talks in a really mature way even tho he's super childish also omg .
Uncle Peter , who always check first thing after starting work whether I had eaten any cabbage/beansprouts/cold drinks in the past week (he says they're "cold" food and is bad for my back) and always share with me his experiences , forever persuading me to go somewhere else to work and passing me random work offers HAHAHAH .
Ah Bao uncle (or uncle poh as everyone else calls him) who always smile brightly , buy ice kachang for us because he claims we are good people , and always tell me that I should consider his grandson and matchmake here and there HAHAHH thanks man .
Uncle Koh whom I only had the chance to work with two times but made such a great impression on me because of how nice he is , forever going on and on while sharing his life stories and always telling me to stay kind and innocent ROFL .
Dedi who always corrupts my mind basically , but makes me laugh so much ! He also always share random life lessons with me (all of them do actually, they nag alot but i know it's cause they care <3) and I love how proud he is of his kid !
Uncle Latif whom I count as the old valet team even tho he became a bell after they change valet company . (Dedi too) He always ask me to go home early and say that he will take over my job and tell me not to worry , awwww . He always ask me to learn malay and scold me for working too hard/scold others for not helping me . Like he got into a legit argument with one of the new valet for being such a lazy ass and not helping a lady when he came out of the toilet to see me lugging the luggage . And he praised me hardworking in front of everyone (; (why not in front of xxx huh)

Actually not really close with all the DMs (because they're strict and fierce even tho they never scold me before) I only got close with Joe only on the last day *laughs* even tho we practically work tgt everyday since he overlooks downstairs (idk why we forever same days work one) because of our Malaysian bonding session HAHAHAH . And he's actually a really nice and the most human-like out of all my boss (like he whines about going home late and annoying guests with us HAHAH) Even tho he always bully me and like subtly sajiao when he have not enough people working on certain back and hints me to extend/come to work on a ph ... And ohyeah , he's actually the most goodlooking guy in my workplace even tho he doesn't look really good in this photo . "Eh , very ugly leh , can take again" I FORGOT TO REQUEST TO SEE HIS CHIO KOREAN GIRLF PHOTO OHNO .

Concierge:
My sort of , yet not really bosses . Because I'm not under them , (under FO) but they're like the 'biggest' in the lobby area .
Grace who was the only female concierge but is as capable as any of them . She really holds the team tgt , in fact , most of the bells started leaving after she left , and she is such a joy to be around ! (i only work with her for like around 5-8 times tho?)
Faizal who is always the biggest bully to me and scolds me for no good reason about stupid things which I will roll my eyes in response to .
Eg, Him: What are you doing here?
Me: To get a pen la .
Him: No. why can't you bring yours , why do you have to take another one ? Go away , you're disturbing me .
And all the while he will give the super serious and pekchek look so I will be like half certain he's joking but still feel scared so I walk away anyway . But still , he once told me he likes working with me because I get things done fast and automatically , so all is well . (: (everyone who praises me are in my good book thanks.) ANDDDDD he is an alumni of CCHY (lixuan's year) so he's my senior HAHAHAHAH .
Gary who is the most easy to bully because he's so nice ! But super unfriendly to newcomers omg , I took 3/4 months before I could talk to him without him replying in one word and walking away . And i love how pure-hearted he is . He asked me if I had his number and I was like no , so he wrote it down on a piece of post-it and passed it to me , asking me to contact him if anything happens or any emergency . Idk , the way he passes me his number shows how pure his intention is to me , idk if ya feel meh . < bosses should do it this way . He's actually my fave concierge because idk he's just really fun and nice to talk with . And also , he's the longest standing concierge ? Plus I always laugh at him when he looks stressed and shit HAHAHAHAH .
Vincent who never ever smile and is super scary looking . I still remembered how much I disliked him on his first day of work (only worked with him for a month but he's my second closest concierge!) because I was so annoyed at the fact that he was my 'superior' and a guy but couldn't take the initiative to intro himself first or at least smile . But because everyone was on bad terms with him and I felt bad , I made the effort to go intro myself and realised that he's actually super childish HAHAH and easy to crap with . And I forever scolding him to smile more also , seriously he looks super unfriendly even tho he's not . I might be more familiar and friend with him had I worked longer but too bad .
And Lorenzo , our senior concierge ! He's super caring , always asking after me too in a really genuine and sincere way , giving me advices when I go to Myanmar and asking me to take care everyday . I can't believe I didn't get a photo with him ):
And Hafiz the half/part-time concirege (seriously the more I think about it , the more ridiculous it sounds, wth is a part-time concirege anyway) who is a part-time bell because he feels like it and he's special LOL . One of my bestfriends in work because he always tell me stupid and lame riddles (shit or was that Hamid) and tease me and argue with me HAHAH ! I didn't get to work with him for the last two weeks tho (diff schedules) and i miss him so much T-T Always hoping to work with him because time flies when you work with your fave people !
Drivers:
First; Uncle Philip ! Second ; Eswaran and Ryan (again) ! Third ; idk what's his name whoops (he's the boss with his bro) and Uncle Dan !
They actually give me the most advices out of anyone else in Westin and are all such kind souls , I don't even know what to say honestly (': Even tho technically our work don't cross , (they are in charge of hotel transport) but they're always with us too and are really funny , especially when Dan and Philip work tgt HAHAHAH . Shit I suddenly forgot the malay driver name omg who who who , what , how ? Dang , he's the one who I worked with longest but I had never addressed him by his name before so I forgot but i adore him too ;-; OHHHHH OSMAN OK IDK HOW SPELL BUT SMTH LIKE THAT . Hopefully one day I will get to take Eswaran's taxi by chance huh since he lives in Yishun ! And speaking of taxis , I will miss 6380 , 4424 and 4214 so much too T-T sorry I remember them by their taxi numbers LOL . I still remember the day when 4424 and me stood there awkwardly watching people argue and we were like uhm ok , so how's your day ? and pretended we saw nth ROFL .

The youngest and two most fun valets ! they seriously need to take care man , when they're on their bikes :/ Hafiz whom I didn't get a photo with but who I worked with the most out of the new valets ! Always laughing at me HAHAHAH and talking about random stuffs tgt to past our time . And John and Mohan and a few other more too ... but didn't work with them long enough tbh .

But it shows how friendly they are , seeing how I can be close to them ! So glad and grateful that Pearlyn intro-ed me this job when I said I wanted a weekend job and Yunqian who I intro-ed here ! Even tho we might not work the same timing , (sigh , I only work like 3 times with qian ;-;) but the times with y'all are the best because we got so much to say !
Shaik , our one and only Lobby Ambassador who works the hardest out of ANYBODY and it makes me smile to see him work because you can feel his sincerity in treating every single guest . (': Yet , he is never prim and proper and always disturb everyone , all the while holding the team tgt . Even tho we always secretly complain about how stressful it is to work with him , (because he don't let us slack off as we shouldn't in the first place anyway) but we all secretly love him the most too because he's really a great guy . He taught me soooo much , forever grateful to him ! Especially his random snacks which he always buy for me ! Sometimes it's bread , sometimes it's biscuits , other days it's fruits !
He makes us part-timers feel appreciated while the rest of the xxx don't . And he bought me this Wellie the Westin bear which is sooooo adorable but quite ex x.x because it's for charity ! And he said "I found the perfect gift for you . It's so you because you like doing things like that and it's a good souvenir to remember us by ." super sweet , thankyou <3 Super joke also , he always purposely disturb the guys by slapping their hips and he always almost do it to me before last minute remembering that I'm a girl , LOLOLOLOL .
Sharon WHO IS THE MOST APPROACHABLE AND ALWAYS PATIENTLY TEACH ME STUFFS WHICH i SHOULD HAVE KNOWN LIKE IN MY FIRST MONTH OPPS AND IS THE MOST RELATABLE TOO ! shit i forgot to uncaps but anyway , she always accompany me and talk to me when I'm bored and wants to die from exhaustion !
Queenie whom I got super close with after only working with her for 2 days . In fact she's the only supervisor I'm close with ! I guess it's cause Jeremy ask her to try all the other jobs first before moving her up , so she can relate to our pain and stuffs . She forever disturb too , asking me to extend or take the downtown line just to go home with her HAHAHAH !
Kevin who always sing Jay Chou's song for me and glare at me when I pass by and call me Xiao Ya Tou/Xiao peng you/Xiao meimei and just basically serve to annoy me , tsk this kevin . I think the sentence he tells me most is "Adults talking , kids don't interrupt" -.-
Amber who is also one of the kindest people I know and is so fun and friendly to talk with ! And some others I might not interact personally with much but are still pretty friendly with each other includes Hans and Florettha ! (I have a feeling I forgot someone ...) Oh yeah , Fangjing whom I haven't seen in so long since she went back to China but i'm extremely thankful to for bringing me to volunteer and sharing with me rants and gossips HAHAHAH and of course Alvin , who was my first bff (not counting P) and whom I talked about before .

Professional vs crappy and ugly looking
Even tho the job is not all fun and laughter , after working at four diff places , this is the place where I learnt the most and made the most friends . I learnt to let go , respect others , be flexible and efficient and learn the basics of serving . Even tho it's not all smooth , there are days where I feel like quitting because of unreasonable shits or unhelpful colleagues too but overall , it was a really great working experience . I seriously recommend everyone to try a hotel job for fun before you proceed to your desired job because the things you learn there are endless . And the hardship you go through really make you grow . Thankyou to everyone at TWS for giving me such a fun and enriching experience !
