MYANMAR TRIP; 21o614' - 3oo614'

This post is sooooo outdated but whatever .
will do the short primary school style again because laziness .
And after typing everything and rereading it , I realised I had to filter and censor alot of things like the places we go but the overall trip details are still there yo .
Didn't check through spellings and grammer so do expect some .

Day1 - Set off to Myanmar !
Didn't had anyone sending us off because #nofriends except for sister's boyf . (Jaye said she mentally send me off from msia tho) So ladeeda he drove us there .

Me: MAKE SURE YOU ASK THE PERSON TO PUT RUE AS THE NAME OK.
Me: DID YOU HEAR? RUE, THAT'S R-U-E RUEEEEEEEEE
*whatsapp my sister while she's queueing* EH RUE HOR DON'T FORGET

Compulsory ticket and passport shot . Chilled at sunflower garden and the movies room but luckily we caught the last call signal and got onboard on time !

Forgot to request window seat because dumb . Seat neighbour was a nice myanmar person tho .

Reached , lost , got pissed with sister for her insistence on buying data which is crazily ex and i aimed to have zero expenses on this trip . Finally found Yong taitai , Khine Soe and YiPiu after 15mins ! Dinner with Master Shi and the group that fetched us , awkward chat with those people who were present to welcome us .

Chilling in the room

This two things struck me the most . If you don't understand why , you're weird .

Day2 - Help out and ceremony in charge
Walked around the Chinatown area led by -- (I suddenly forgot his name .)

Focus of the pictures are THE BIRDS OMG

Crazy traffic everyday during peak hours , filling the air with never ending blasts of horns .

Chillax and eat this fruit for the first time because too paiseh to reject unlike in msia . Ceremony was so-so, made some mistakes pfft . Had to play games with the kid too and Master Shi gave us just ten minutes to prepare for activities that can keep them occupied for an hour , whut .

Day3 - City exploration
Before Master Shi left for the village , he instructed for us to be brought around , so tourist time and off schedule time !

One of the more popular parks .

Recommend this place where many tourist go to . Feel Myanmar food .

Shwedagon Pagoda , everywhere you turn it's so beautiful . All the pictures turned out so niceeeee . Pretty structures + pretty skies + pretty us (okay la kidding about the last part don't roll your eyes can .) I lazy to edit the photos but whatever . Last picture is super cool and funny . Apparently you have to see when you were borned and mine was Saturday morning so you had to pour the water over the statue the number of your age . This auntie was 58 years old and she was like , "wah , my hand pain , don't know need do how many times ."

This was me trying to prove a point to my sister that even a random shit picture of a welcome mat can look nice there . See the details of the steps !!

This is my worst nightmare seriously .

Shopping centre time . Went to a high-end one with sloppy clothes . I think the name is Junction Square but seriously not a place you would go if you want bargains . All the shops are like Tony-Moly, Timberland and Face Shop type .

Lunch at the nearby temple . The noodles is loveeeee

Me trying and failing to show you how small the lift is . It's like half the width of singapore's ?

Really appreciate how they always come over because they know we are here , so that we wouldn't find the place empty and cold (':

Day4 - chill day and biscuit baking !

Were supposed to be tourist day two but the two of us and the Caiyan ahyi were too lazy to go out HHAH plus it kept raining also so v sian . So we taught YiPiu chinese instead .

1 - 17 taught to me by YiPiu !

Pumpkin seed biscuit

Xiao mei bought this for us along the streets ! The left one is mine ! THE BOY IS SUPER TALENTED , he's like 15 at the most ?

Day 5 - Village and home visits

I hate sharing sessions tsk . Master Shi came back but before he could ask us to share , he had to send other guest of , yay ! So yong taitai just let us share very simply . The people there were all super nice and friendly ! And this boy is super cute , hahahah !

I believe I put on 1kg from the home visit and it's only 1kg because we were rushing to visit as many as possible ... Like from the first house alone ^ , I ate like 2 apples , 4 slices of the swiss roll , at least ten pieces of the cut banana , five biscuits , one cup of tea and one bowl of oatmeal . seriously dying from being too bloated . And they were too hospitable and kept urging you to eat and especially the seniors so you reject too many times = no manners so you have to just bear with it ROFL . And mind you , that amount is just one house alone .

They very YOLO .

Act picture because first time on train <3

Act number two . I'm going back to my actyige life . Alighted before our stop because Master Shi wanted to show us around and for us to experience the street life . Actually everyone was tired as hell by that time but nobody dared to say anything so we just followed .

This scene angers me so much ugh . It's like everywhere you go , you see all these poor birds packed into seriously cramp and small cages (those are not even cages , those are the casing of a fan mind you .) for you to pay and let them go , to let people delude themselves into thinking "Good job , I did a kind act" and then after that they continue catching these birds to sell to others . Yay , way to go man .

HOW COOL IS THIS OVERHEAD BRIDGE , IT'S FOUR WAYS WOW SINGAPORE NEEDS THIS .

HAHAHh the two monsters at the back are too adorable ! They're super obedient and smart too , the girl got first in cohort -claps-

Day6 - Countryside and home visits

THIS IS SUPER COOL and got the olden drama feels . so idk if you can see but there's all these ropes and strings attached to baskets , clothes hanger and clothespins hanging down every building which are actually bells . So basically , you have to identify which one leads to which house and ring it .

THE BIRDS

Our mode of transport for the day ! The drivers found by Xiao mei ahyi are really WAYYYY more reliable .

Sharing session by Mr. Xie at night .

Day7 - Bread making and to Mawlamyine(Moulmein)

I NEED TO MAKE THIS AT HOME , because it's delicious ! I didn't know bread was so easy to make .
Took bus to their house andone thing that really struck me about Myanmar is how much trust they have and how much safer they felt even if Singapore probably is safer . You can see people sleeping with their handbags left beside them , and whenever you board the bus , people standing hand their belongings to those sitting . I was so shocked when a guy asked for my umbrella because he wanted to help me hold so I could balance properly . Seriously too nice .

Caiyan ahyi wasn't feeling well and yet we had to leave her to set of to Moulmein ):

Because they aim for efficiency and don't want to waste a day , instead of going the next morning , our bus tickets were at 9pm , meaning we would reach at 3am . So we could start activities from the next morning D: The owners of the place we were planning to stayed at weren't there so we ended up at YiPiu's grandparents house at last minute notice . The people there are seriously super nice I tell you . And we were lucky we didn't get into trouble since her grandparents were part of the how to say , the committee of the village ? i forgot the word for it . So we didn't have to do reporting or that would be one whole load of trouble with the officials ugh .

Day 8 - Playing at Moulmein when were supposed to do our jobs

Monk at the door and the grandma paying respects . They put monks and nuns in high regards over there . Did you know , the first two seats beside the driver are the "first class" priority seats for monks and nuns .

Went to a random temple for lunch , and walk around and feed the fishes
The fish food feels super cardboard-y but it's so nice because it's so colourful ! And my sis came up with this way of feeding them which is to lay them out and flick it as far as possible . Soon , everyone beside us were playing the same way LOL

Random beach . Yup , the water was pretty dirty tbh

Crazy ride back home which ended up in tempers being thrown everywhere because the vehicle broke down and the drives were being an ass . Okay la , while everyone were getting irritated , I was happily taking selfies :P

Pitch dark toilet trip at another temple , which was one of the more prominent one there but because it was too dark , we didn't get to see anything . Plus we were super tired and hungry , having waited two hours for the vehicle . There was this row of monk statues leading up to the temple which was super creepy tbh in the night .

They serve this spicy leaves soup everywhere , idk the name but i like it :D

Decided not to take the vehicle back so we boarded this uhmmmmm , is it counted as a tuktuk ? It's like the back of a lorry connected to a motorbike .  It was raining super heavily and was superrrr cold .

Day9 - Sick day

Muscles were aching the moment I woke up , was telling my sis that they feel sore like how your joint feels before a fever , but it's my muscles not my joint so ??? Idk , anyway , we had to make up for lost time the day before so we set off to visit and find the kids .

The owner still wasn't home and the kids were at tuition so we went to YiPiu's other grandma house .
She showed us how to make potteries and let me tell you , it's wayyyyy harder than it looks , I can't make it smooth at all because my hands weren't stable enough .

Got abandoned by Yong taitai and my sister and we didn't notice the dark clouds and basically it rained on us while walking to John's house . So we stopped at YiPiu's house first to wait for the rain to stop .

Went back to the owner's house since he came back and that's when I started burning so byebye no more pictures .

One last picture of the view I had while in his house because I just laid there while I felt like dying . See , I was still thinking that I had to take at least a photo to blog about so here you go . #dedication And btw my temperature was crazily high , like 41/42 degrees .
Went to get injections , vomited , fever kept subsiding and rising .

Day 10 - Byebye Myanmar
We went home . I was still sick . Back to Yangon then back to sg .
It was a really eye-opening , inspiring and interesting trip .
Nope I'm not being sarcastic , I'm just sick of blogging .
Okay bye .
