We are a group of JC1s from National Junior College and NanYang Junior College who feel that our ability to interact and communicate with the people around us are more than adequate . For example, we are able to communicate effectively with our peers and enjoy media entertainments such as watching television programmes, movies, listening to music etc. However, not all of us are blessed with the ability to talk, interact and communicate effectively with people at least not for the autistic. This group of people tends to be overlooked and receives little help from the general public who sees them as a bunch of peculiar people Eventually, they might be neglected or even despised. Therefore, The Outreachers is formed.

The Outreachers consists of a group of people who believe strongly in helping the autistic community. The tagline- Stepping into their worlds. shows that despite the challenges faced in life, one can still lead a fulfilling life. We aim to spread and raise the awareness of the difficulties and challenges the Autistic have to face in the Labyrinth of their life through collaboration with the Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore (MINDS).In other words, we hope that the Autistic can gain more help from the general public. In addition, we hope that we can become the inspiration to provide a direction for other enthusiasts to follow. Furthermore, we plan to raise funds to assist the smooth daily running and/or implementation of programmes to help the Autistic and break down the barriers between them and society.

Our objectives are:
-To understand and experience the difficulty and conflicts faced by autistic people
-To raise the awareness of the difficulties and challenges the Autistic have to face and in turn hope the Autistic can gain more help from the general public
-To raise funds to the amount of SGD$50,000.00 to assist the smooth daily running and/or implementation of programmes to help the Autistic.

At first , everyone seemed lost and at a loss at what we're supposed to do but when someone started moving , everyone just sort of wandered away randomly . Being th only girl , yes i know sadlife ): , I was totally alone like some emokia . In order to not feel pathetic , i decided to move away from th area and headed to Plaza Sing entrance where i expect would have more traffic flow . Apparently , that wasn't th case probably due to th fact that NOBODY GOES SHOPPING AT 10AM DUH .
while standing there dejectedly , i was looking around and i happened to spot this cute little note at a advertisement board below ! v

Walked around , and after like fifteen minutes , i've got only like $1 ? But anyway , RI boys also happened to be doing their donation drive that day and they look pretty desperate too :P So they approach me to ask for a donation and we sortof did an exchange , hahah .


and i've got this pretty badge in return ! ^^ So obviously , their donation drive was going towards th Cancer Research program or something , i wasn't really listening ... :"/
So after stubbornly standing at th same spot for half an hour , i gave in and headed in th opposite direction of Cathay , and i cheated cause ... i walked to Bugis :P
Not Bugis as in Bugis street there , mai siaosiao please . I positioned myself at th entrance of th POMO instead (: If you have no idea where it is , it is just behind SOTA along Prinsep Street where places like Strictly Pancakes , PlayNation and Mind Cafe are located . Rings a bell now ?

That place is seriously bustling with people , like at least 80 people walk past in a minute . NO I'M NOT EXAGGERATING . even though it's so bright and early , these crazy people are up and about already , super peifu them . Stood there diligently for one and a half hour before buying a bread for lunch and then continue standing there until like 1++ and MY CAN WAS PRACTICALLY FULL ALREADY . maybe those who hadn't been to any flag day wouldn't understand but it's almost impossible to fill up a flag day tin in half a day BUT I DID IT :D It was hard work okay , i did not just stand there like a statue and waited for people to pity me kay , i approached 1 out of every 3 person who walked past . under th sweltering heat somemore , not bad uh ? and i was doing my job when th rest of my class was happily eating lunch okay ! Sorry for th bragging , too proud of myself :P Got tired of standing there , slogging around a heavy tin so i went to find Louis for a second tin though mine wasn't really filled to th brim and still had a bit of space . But by then , th heat was really getting to me and my feet was totally aching like hell until cannot tahan already so i just sat outside SOTA to wait for th clock to finally say five .
Bernie & Kennard walked over to join me & my stoning session after that , (scold me slacker somemore -.-) and they crapped & gossiped about everything under th sun while i got up once in a while to collect some money before sitting back down to stone . I think my class wasn't all that enthu for this thing cause they didn't get to experience th first interaction at Mindsville . (fyi , only me and eileen went -.-) Everytime i sit down and look at th people passing me , i would be thinking to myself , that's two dollars gone , another fifty cents , another five dollars . Then i'll start thinking about th 18 year old girl paired with me during my last visit , how she made me promise that i would come back again , and i couldn't sit still . But then , my aching feet gets to me again and i sank back down onto th steps and th cycle continues . At around 4.30 , six out of th eight from my class were all just sitting outside SOTA waiting for time to past while Shengwu and Darrin were at god knows where .
At 5.15 , I couldn't bear sitting there doing nothing anymore and suggested "Do you guys want to go now ?" and i totally got scolded by them for not bringing this up earlier cause they were all just waiting for me . x.x So headed back to Cathay to find Louis AND HE DISAPPEARED INTO THIN AIR WITH HIS PHONE OFF . that was like instant panic mode for me , cause i desperately wanted to go home and how are we supposed to find him ! But thankfully , i saw a bunch of NJC people and ran towards them cause they were doing this as a joint project with us . Was wondering why their tees looked so familiar when someone tapped me from behind and said "LEEXINHUI !" Yay , it was twin ! :DDD Actually , i sorta knew when i heard my name cause i saw her name in that FB group before . It was a really plesant suprise and they helped me contact th other incharge (:
Headed to PlazaSing to hand over our pathetic not even half filled tins and th incharge wanted to shake my hand cause i was th only one to complete at least one tin and 1/4 more addition -bragging moment #02- So went home like a loner while Shengwu go find his TF and th rest of th guys went to play arcade after that  . AND I JUST REALISED WE NEER TAKE GROUP PHOTO ):
